Parking

Paid Parking:
The closest paid parking lot, Central Parking, is next to the 24-hr CVS at Wisconsin Avenue and O Street (1403 Wisconsin). Central Parking is a small lot, but the manager, a nice man named Sereke (“seh-reh-keh”) says spaces are always available. You give him your car key, and he parks and locks your car. The hours are 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., and the rates are as follows: 1 hour $8, 2 hours $15 and 3 or more hours $18. If you park there and have a late appointment (that runs after 7 p.m.) someone must pay and collect your key, then you may leave your car until you are finished.
Please read further for a list of 24 other paid parking lots/garages in Georgetown.

Parking in Residential Areas:
The 2-hour residential parking on the side streets is free, but you must move your car after 2 hours to avoid a $30 ticket.

Meter Parking:
There are 30 minute, 1 and 2 hour parking meters in some places, both the coin and kiosk type, and the meters must be fed until 10 p.m. If you are parked on Wisconsin Avenue, even at a metered space, you must move your car during the rush hours of 7 – 9:30 a.m. and 4 – 6:30 p.m., or you will get a $100 ticket, and be towed.
