Balayage (natural, warm)
Balayage is a highlighting technique. The word is a derivative of the French verb Balayer (to sweep). This is done with a balay (broom). In the salon, hair colorists use a brush loaded with color or lightener to apply the product in a sweeping motion across the surface of a section of hair. The lightener is applied sparingly near the scalp, with heavier saturation traveling through the mid-lengths to the ends. Because of oxygen exposure during the balayage application and processing, the results are warmer than highlights that are wrapped in aluminum foil.
